2019-20 Fulbright Program Competition Open
The Institute of International Education has announced the 2019-20 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program application cycle is open and the U.S. Student Program will open April 1, 2018. Fulbright offers competitive merit-based grants for students, faculty, teachers, professionals and groups in over 137 countries.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fellowships for U.S. graduating college seniors, graduate students, young professionals and artists to study, conduct research, and/or teach English abroad. In addition, Critical Language Enhancement Awards are available to grantees for study of critical need foreign languages before or during their grant period.
“Utah State University scholars and students have been making an impact abroad every year,” said Shelly Ortiz, Fulbright program adviser. “We encourage more faculty, staff, and students to apply for these opportunities to engage with the world. Working with a host country, interacting with local culture and language, conducting research and more, can lead to profound long-term benefits.”
Utah State University professors, faculty, administrators and professionals are encouraged to apply for the Fulbright Core Scholar awards. The Catalog of Awards lists over 400 awards, such as Postdoctoral and Early Career, Fulbright Flex, Fulbright Global Scholar and several more.
U.S. students can visit Fulbright online to find out how to start their application online and learn more about available programs.
USU students and scholars interested in applying for an award can email Fulbright advisers exchangevisitors@usu.edu, in the office of global engagement, to schedule a one-on-one appointment, discuss international contacts and resources, and workshop applications.
The deadline for the Fulbright U.S. Core Scholar application is August 1, 2018. The Fulbright U.S. Student application deadline for the institution is September 5, 2018. Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Fulbright advisers and apply through the university.
