700 East to be Closed Temporarily
Starting Monday, Nov. 22, and extending for a maximum of two weeks or until Dec. 6, 700 East will be closed to allow for ongoing construction of Utah State University’s new living/learning community.
Beginning just south of 600 North and extending to just below Darwin Ave., 700 E. will be closed to all traffic, as Rupp Excavating relocates sewer, storm drain and water lines.
Students will be able to cross 700 E. at 600 N. and will have a protected path to the stairs on the northeast side of the intersection.
Vehicles traveling east on 600 N. will not be able to access 700 E., and 500 North will be closed to all, except for local traffic to 700 E.
One of the two lanes heading northeast on 700 E. will be permanently closed with potential to change to a bike lane in the future.
Access to Darwin Ave. will be from 800 E and 700 N. only. In order to accommodate this, Logan City is removing the island on 700 N. to allow traffic to enter and exit Darwin when coming from the east from 800 E.
