And the Golden Mouse Goes To…
Utah State University professor Robert Mills, from the business information systems department, was honored Dec. 8 for his innovation in integrating technology in teaching and learning.
The Golden Mouse Award was given to Mills in recognition of his efforts to implement into his classes, interaction with major organizations such as the Delta Center/Utah Jazz, Bourns Manufacturing, and ATK Thiokol.
Over the past three years, Mills’ students have worked to design and develop nine technology-based training modules for the Delta Center/Utah Jazz as part of BIS 4350 and 6350 courses.
“These Projects have provided students with outstanding portfolio pieces which help them secure employment upon graduation,” said Karen Forcht, BIS department head. “Bob is to be commended on his outstanding efforts to bring technology to students in a very practical and real way.”
Utah State Executive Vice President and Provost Stan Albrecht, who presented the award to Mills, said, “Professor Mills actions have made his classes some of the top being offered at Utah State University. He has prepared his students well for entering the working world by integrating course work with technology and hands on experiences through the business world.”
The Golden Mouse Award was inaugurated Fall 2001 to recognize those who have integrated technology in teaching and learning in innovative ways.
