Brigham City Campus Remodel Unveiled

The Utah State University Brigham City Regional campus held an open house Thursday, Sept. 28, for the community and students to celebrate the newly remodeled building. Students, staff and faculty gave tours of the new facility that features state-of the-art-technology in each classroom, a new fitness center, study lounge and a child care center. New to the campus is a full bookstore with books, supplies, computers and Aggie apparel for students. Photographs taken by Barry Parsons, a USU Brigham City photography instructor, adorn the walls.

“The Brigham City campus is a growing and thriving center that serves Box Elder County,” said Ronda Menlove, vice provost for regional campuses and distance education. “ The support of the community, university and students has created a place of learning and discovery for all ages that is rapidly becoming the heart of the community.”

 

Utah State President Stan L Albrecht and his wife, Joyce, attended the reception, as did Provost Raymond Coward and his wife, Andrea. Representative Fred Hunsaker also toured the improved campus.

 

Former County Commissioner Royal Norman and his wife, Elaine, from Corinne, were two of the community members who attended. Norman was county commissioner when the university bought the building and he said it was remarkable to see how much the building had changed since being used as a warehouse to house exercise bikes.
