Caine College of the Arts Dean's Convocation to Feature Artist Nicholas Galanin

LOGAN, Utah— The Caine College of the Arts at Utah State University has announced its annual Dean’s Convocation at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall.

This free event is open to the public and serves as a ceremonial introduction to the academic year, setting the tone for what is to come, and will feature a keynote lecture from renowned artist Nicholas Galanin as part of the Communitas Lecture Series.

Led by Nicholas Morrison, dean of the Caine College of the Arts, the convocation is a significant gathering that brings together faculty, students and the greater university community to explore a topic vital to the mission and values of the college. This year’s convocation promises to inspire attendees through the work of Galanin, whose art is known for blending traditional Indigenous knowledge with modern contemporary practices to challenge narratives surrounding Native cultures.
