Campus Recreation Launches RecRe Partnership
Renting gear at the Aggie Recreation Center just got a whole new look. Utah State Campus Recreation has partnered with RecRe, an automated rental platform, to elevate and create a more seamless approach to gear rentals at the ARC. With three new rental boxes in the ARC and one in the HPER, students can check out everything from climbing shoes to basketballs all through their phone.
“RecRe has been a game changer for us.” Says Katie Burns, the Director of Campus Recreation. “We have been able to shift staffing models, meeting more needs of students, faculty, and staff while providing greater autonomy for patrons to check out equipment when they need it.”
Students, faculty, and staff are able to rent gear through the ease of their phone by simply scanning a QR code, creating an account, and tapping on what gear they want to grab. In the ARC, boxes are equipped with climbing shoes in one location, basketballs, volleyballs, tennis rackets, and more in another. And weightlifting belts in the third, closest to the south entrance. In the HPER, a smaller box can be found, again with basketballs, volleyballs, and more ball sports equipment.
A special bonus to adding these new features? RecRe implements a “one tree planted” system, where, because of the partnership between RecRe and Utah State, 50 trees have been planted in Argentina on USU’s behalf.
Recreation equipment can be rented from three new rental boxes in the ARC and one in the HPER.
