HASS Dean Candidate Amanda Smith Barusch to Visit Campus

Three finalists for the dean’s position in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Utah State University have been announced, and campus visits have been scheduled.

The candidates include Amanda Smith Barusch, Charles J. Brody and Yolanda Flores Niemann. While on campus, all candidates will be featured in an open forum, question-and-answer session intended for faculty, staff and students to have the opportunity to interact with each finalist. All forums will be held from 4-5 p.m.

“We are excited to be able to bring to campus three very capable leaders as candidates for this important deanship,” said USU College of Science Dean Mary S. Hubbard, chair of the search and screening committee. “A committee representing the many constituencies of the college worked together to narrow the applicant pool and to provide recommendations to President Albrecht. We look forward to having these candidates experience a few days at USU and to having the campus community consider their candidacy for this important leadership appointment.”

The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences is the largest college at Utah State.

Amanda Smith Barusch will visit the USU campus April 1-2. An open forum is scheduled Tuesday, April 1, at 4 p.m. in the Merrill-Cazier Library room 154.
