Low Carb Craze

Food companies are rushing to market with new low-carb products, but there are cheaper ways to keep healthy foods in your diet, says Utah State University professor Tamara Vitale. “There’s no legal definition for low-carb, so package labeling can be misleading.” Instead of reaching for expensive low-carb options or avoiding carbs altogether, choose vegetables, beans and whole wheat breads and limit sweets, she says.
