New Teachers May Need a Turbo-Charge

A Utah State University study found that, nationwide, nearly 40 percent of new teachers leave the profession after six years. To counter this trend, Utah’s Davis County School District has started a mentoring program to help new teachers. “The first year is exhausting,” say program coordinators. “New teachers often get discouraged.”
