Utah State University Highlights LGBT+ History Month With Educational Community-Building Event

By Shelly Ortiz |

LOGAN — Utah State University’s Heritage & Culture welcomes students, faculty, staff, and community members to join in commemorating LGBT+ History Month through a free event focused on learning and connection.

This educational and celebratory event will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6 along the sidewalks south of University Inn.

USU student organizations and departments will host interactive tables encouraging attendees to learn with, and from, each other. These campus partners will offer opportunities to participate in activities, connect with student leaders, learn about campus resources, and interact with academics involved in LGBTQ+ scholarship. Attendees can learn about LGBT+ History Month and learn how it differs from Pride Month.

LGBT+ History Month is observed annually in October, highlighting the history, contributions, achievements, and experiences of LGBT+ individuals and communities while promoting understanding, education, and the preservation of LGBT+ history and culture. The month encourages reflection on historical milestones and provides opportunities to learn from a wide range of experiences and perspectives.

USU's Heritage & Culture fosters community-building through the celebration of heritage and shared experiences. All events are free, and everyone is welcome to learn, connect, and celebrate.
