GEAR UP LEVEL UP Advising Events
GEAR UP LEVEL UP hosted events this October for students to meet their Academic Advisors, and to help them get prepared for the classes to come. These events were hosted at Salt Lake Community College, and the University of Utah.

Getting students ready for the future!
In October, GEAR UP organized academic advising events at Salt Lake Community College (October 8) and the University of Utah (October 16). Students could consult their GEAR UP Advisors for class registration help and other questions at the events. Academic Advisors from SLCC and U of U were also present for additional support.
Approximately 75 students, along with several parents, attended the events. Participants enjoyed free breakfast or lunch, and received a college survival kit with useful items and other swag. These events provided valuable guidance for course selection, a chance for students to connect with their advisors, and to see familiar faces. Students who attended gained a boost of encouragement during their regular class days.
GEAR UP will continue hosting monthly events for the Granite Class of 2024. In November, there will be a field trip for students interested in the medical field, and two additional events focused on finals preparation.
