Manti Students Attend SUU Red Riot Overnight
Each year, Southern Utah University (located in Cedar City, UT) hosts an event known as Red Riot. At this event, high school students are able to stay overnight and experience an exciting sample of the SUU culture, while also learning about scholarship opportunities, class information, and the campus layout. This year, five GEAR UP students were able to attend Red Riot, which they described as an incredible event.

On November 17th & 18th, five Manti High School seniors were able to attend Red Riot at Southern Utah University. Over the two days, these students had the opportunity to tour the campus, learning more about what the Southern Utah University experience is like. They were likewise able to speak with current students, who answered their varied questions about SUU. SUU staff gave presentations during Red Riot, providing the high school students with financial aid information for the future.
Afterward, the students socialized with SUU student ambassadors and made friends during SUU's Casino Night, a well-loved and eagerly anticipated SUU campus tradition. When asked about their experience at Red Riot, our GEAR UP students expressed much excitement and appreciation for being able to attend. They loved the time they spent at SUU, the guidance that they had received, and the chances to experience campus culture for themselves. They were so glad that they went!
