Duchesne County
Home to 20,000, Duchesne County’s charm lies in its unspoiled wilderness, friendly communities, and the opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of city life. Gateway to the Uintah Basin, much of present-day Duchesne County was once part of the sprawling Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation. The High Uintas is dotted with some of the most beautiful alpine lakes anywhere in the West yet the county also has its share of serious concerns. Since grassroots is key to long-term societal change in the Bolder Way Forward Framework, partnering with Daggett and Uintah counties, Duchesne residents strive to bring the BWF message to every city, town, business, neighborhood, and family within the Uintah Basin region. Since the “whole is greater than the sum of the parts,” the Coalition looks at who is currently doing the work in each spoke, or focus area, and what programs and efforts already support women and families in the Uintah Basin. By lifting women and girls in our county, we lift all residents.
