January 2023 Newsletter

Colleagues,

Happy New Year! I have a number of Utah Women & Leadership Project (UWLP) announcements for January:

First, we are pleased to announce the release of a new research snapshot titled “Eating Disorders Among Utah Women.” Thanks to Dr. Maya Miyairi, Dr. Sara Boghosian, and Sadie Wilde for their fabulous work on this important report.

Second, we are excited to announce the release of the UWLP’s Lifelong Learning Program. It is a self-directed program that will provide you with great personal and professional development opportunities. Our 2023 program has three achievement levels (Inspired Learner, Empowered Learner, and Lifelong Learner) with each taking approximately 10 hours. We look forward to recognizing your achievements! Thanks to Angie Kleven for her fabulous work on this program.

Third, in partnership with Utah Public Radio (UPR) we have released two new podcast episodes: Homelessness Among Utah Women and 100 Companies Championing Women: Clearfield City.

Fourth, here are some of our partners’ upcoming events:

Fifth, Women Tech Council’s Shatter List showcases technology and innovation companies that are creating and enacting programs and policies that are accelerating progress towards breaking the glass ceiling. Although no company has completely removed the glass ceiling, those on The Shatter List are creating impact and progress for women in tech and leading positive change in the technology community. If you know of a company that belongs on the list, please apply here. Also, check out the Inspire In Utah resources and don’t forget to nominate your company to the 100 Companies in Utah Championing Women if you feel like they are deserving!

Finally, check out some key articles and media published this past month:

Join us on the UWLP social media platforms: LinkedInFacebookTwitterInstagram, and YouTube. See the community calendar as well. Email uwlp@usu.edu to let us know you want to receive these updates to your own inbox if you received a forwarded email.

Enjoy January!
