The groundbreaking number is a 137% increase over last year’s total of $46.8 million and becomes the first time in the university’s 134-year history it has surpassed the $100 million fundraising mark. |

These online courses help prepare high school students for college, allow flexibility to fit their schedules and they'll pay a fraction of the cost while earning college credits. |

Alumni Couple Supply Body Armor, Medical Aid to Ukrainians |
David ’05 and Brittany ’01 Milligan flew to Poland in June with their son, Davey, to donate supplies to those engaging in the conflict on the Ukrainian side of the border. After collecting supplies and donations from Cache Valley residents, the trio packed up 40 sets of body armor, as well as medical supplies for their journey. |

Two Aggies Named Living Color Award Recipients |
Jacqueline Thompson ’10 Ph.D., a community activist with the Davis School District, and Benjamin Kolendar ’10, director of the Salt Lake City Department of Economic Development, were named by Living Color Utah and Utah Business Magazine for their work to make Utah more equitable and inclusive. |

Utah Teacher of the Year Continues Legacy |
Chad Warnick ’06, ’09 MS, is in his 17th year of teaching agriculture in the Millard School District. He was raised in Delta, and his father received the same award in 1991. Warnick, an agriculture educator and FFA (Future Farmers of America) adviser for ninth to 12th graders, now teaches in his father’s old classroom. |

A Little Goes a Long Way: Computer Science Professor Creates Student Endowments |
USU Computer Science Professor Vicki Allan has created three endowments in the Department of Computer Science. Of her career, Allan said that teaching at USU is the best job in the world and credits all of the amazing students at the university. “Creating scholarships to encourage students to pursue an education is such a great use of money and it brings me a lot of joy,” Allan said. “The students are working so hard and often go into debt.” |

Forging a New Path: First-Generation Alum Creates Aggie Family Scholarship for Aggie First Scholars |
In 2021, Paul Maroof ’74 created an Aggie Family Scholarship in honor of he and his wife, Nahid, who died of cancer in 2018. The Paul and Nahid Maroof Aggie Family Scholarship is intended for Aggie First Scholars, a USU program that recognizes and develops success for first-generation students, just like the Maroofs. |

Easing the Financial Burden: Young Alum Creates Scholarship for Math Student Teachers |
Alum Brooks Ogborn ’21 was thankful for the financial help he received in college and decided he wanted to help other future teachers. In fall 2021, during his first few months of teaching, he worked with USU’s College of Science to create the Brooks Ogborn Student Teacher Rent Alleviation Program Scholarship. |
