Utah State University’s Center for Community Engagement (CCE), in partnership with the Office of the Provost, invites applications for Faculty Fellowships in Community Engagement. In 2020 and again in 2026, Utah State University received the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification, the highest recognition for community engagement in higher education. Strengthening faculty leadership in community engagement is central to how we fulfill this institutional commitment.
Program Overview
The Faculty Fellowships in Community Engagement broaden the pool of faculty leaders advancing Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) and departmental engagement. Faculty Fellows work closely with the Center for Community Engagement to advance institutional community engagement efforts and support faculty across colleges and departments.
Fellowship Details
Three faculty fellows will be selected this spring to start two-year terms (2026-2028) in August of 2026. These faculty will be supported with one course buy-out per year.
Faculty Fellow Responsibilities
- Serve in leadership roles supporting Carnegie Community Engagement Reclassification
- Co-chair and/or support the ETE Community Engagement Subcommittee
- Promote Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) course designation across colleges and departments
- Support and promote the Community-Engaged Department program
- Mentor new faculty in CEL pedagogy
- Provide faculty professional development, including workshops, resources, and training
- Promote the use of Promotion & Tenure / Watermark documentation
- Contribute to faculty recognition efforts, including media spotlights and awards
Who Should Apply
This fellowship is open to USU faculty across all colleges who are engaged in or committed to community-engaged teaching and scholarship.
