Community-Engaged Learning

Community-Engaged Learning integrates meaningful community engagement with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities. Students apply knowledge and skills from the classroom to the real world in an effort to address community-identified needs. Through this process, students and faculty create mutually beneficial relationships that improve learning, prompt meaningful classroom reflection and discussion, and support the public good.

The Community-Engaged Learning Program works with community partners and faculty to find project matches that benefit the community while meeting course learning objectives. The program also manages course designations to ensure faculty and students are recognized for the work they complete in the community.
