Who Can Join
The Community Engagement Pre-Connections Experience is for incoming first-year students only.
How to Register
First-year students must apply to participate in this program; only 36 will be selected to participate. Applicants must fill out the online application form before 11:59pm on Sunday, August 3. On the application, students will rank three topic areas that will determine the team they're part of for the session. Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Selected applicants will be informed via email.
What You'll Do
You will spend two days in Logan, getting to know the soul of the community through hands-on projects with community partner organizations. Experienced staff from the Center for Community Engagement and our community partners will lead you through engagement activities that might include direct service projects, workshops, or guest speakers. Projects will address real needs in your new community of Cache Valley. This program is ideal for students coming from out of state, as well as students who have spent their whole lives in the valley. Start (or continue) your journey of becoming an effective changemaker who can listen to the real needs of a community.
Projects and activities may involve physical labor, walking, hiking, lifting, and being outside in the summer weather. We value the contributions of students of all abilities, so if you have concerns or would like to describe accommodations that would help you participate fully, please include them in the application below.
