Excellent Teachers Wanted
The Civic Center is always on the lookout for new faculty who are passionate about teaching undergraduate students. In the center, teaching is what we do. It is what we love. It is central to how we see ourselves as scholars. Welcome home to a place where teaching comes first.
To be approved to teach a CIVC course, faculty members will first apply to become Civic Teaching Fellows. Approval will be based on evidence of preparation for civil and collaborative work in the Civic Center and outstanding teaching and commitment to student success. The Center for Civic Excellence invites interdisciplinary faculty groups to propose ideas for new courses that its Curriculum Committee could consider adding to the new general education curriculum. Click for more details about how to propose a new CIVC course.
Each year the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) recognizes faculty across the state who demonstrate outstanding performance in general education instruction. These awards are named in honor of USU Emeritus Professor of History Norm Jones. Click for details about the awards.
