About This Certificate
The Basic Corrections Officer technical certificate is designed to help students prepare for a career in Law Enforcement and certification under Utah law.
This program functions to allow students a high-quality and structured entry into the field of corrections with a marketable skill set and required state-recognized credentials.
Students who complete the certificate will be prepared to work as a sworn and certified officer employed by the Department of Corrections, any political subdivision of the state, or any private entity which contracts with the state or its political subdivisions. These credentials may be stacked upward into a future degree.
