About This Certificate

The Special Functions Officer technical certificate is designed to help students prepare for a career in Law Enforcement and certification under Utah law.

This program functions to allow students a high-quality and structured entry into the field of criminal justice with a marketable skill set and required state-recognized credentials.

Students who complete the certificate will be prepared to work as a certified peace officer performing specialized investigations, service of legal process, security functions, or specialized ordinance, rule, or regulatory functions as outlined in Utah law. These credentials may be stacked upward into a future degree.
