About This Minor

The Food Science minor at Utah State University's College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences provides a foundation in food science, including food safety, food processing, and the relationship between food, technology, and health.

What You Will Learn

Students will explore topics in food science, including chocolate science, sanitation and safety, food processing, meat and dairy technology, food microbiology, and food chemistry. Students must complete required courses (9 credits) and select at least 6 credits from the elective options.
