About This Degree
Nutrition scientists study the molecular and cellular basis of human health and disease.
They integrate principles of nutrition with related sciences, such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and medicine.
What You Will Learn
This degree provides students with a solid background in health and life sciences. Students learn how food and nutrients interact with the human body to support health and physical performance.
Emphases:
Pre-health:
Prepares students to enter medical school by providing experiences and opportunities in laboratory research, epidemiology, and clinical nutrition.
Sport Nutrition:
Applies the principles of nutrition to exercise and physical performance. Students develop the skills needed to work as professionals within the fitness, health and dietary supplement industries as health coaches, personal trainers, product developers, and marketers.

- First-Year students: First-Year students admitted to USU in good standing qualify for admission to this major.
- Transfer Students: Transfer students from other institutions and students transferring from other USU majors need a 2.5 total GPA for admission to these emphases.
