Professional Sales at Utah State University prepares students for high-impact careers built on creating customer value, growing revenue, and building long-term business relationships.

Housed in the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, the major combines Huntsman’s rigorous business foundation with applied training in consultative selling, strategic account management, customer success, negotiations, and sales analytics. Students benefit from USU’s nationally recognized ProSales program, which has more than a decade of success, strong employer partnerships, hands-on competitions and mentoring, and a record of 100% student placement.

The degree also includes internships and optional global learning experiences and is available through Logan, Statewide Campuses, and USU Online—making premier professional sales education accessible across Utah.

Graduates are prepared to create, grow, and retain customer relationships in industries including technology, health care, manufacturing, aerospace, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and consumer products.

What You Will Learn

Students learn to identify customer needs, solve business problems, communicate value, and manage complex business-to-business (B2B) relationships.

Coursework and applied experiences develop skills in prospecting and consultative selling; strategic account and pipeline management; negotiation; customer success and retention; sales analytics and sales technology; professional written and oral communication; ethical decision making; and data-informed value creation.

Through internships, employer mentoring, sales competitions, ProSales, and optional global learning experiences, students practice these skills in real business settings and graduate prepared to contribute immediately to revenue growth and customer success.
