About This Minor

Utah State University’s Social Work Minor equips students with essential social work knowledge and skills and prepares them for the Social Service Worker (SSW) licensure.

Rooted in generalist practice and the land-grant tradition, the program offers a solid foundation in social work practice, including critical thinking, values and ethics, diversity, professional use of self, and communication and interpersonal skills.

Students will be empowered to drive meaningful social change for individuals, groups, communities, and society. Students must complete 18 credits and must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA for completion. Unless otherwise noted, all courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.
