Biography
Monika Galvydis has been Study Abroad Director at Utah State University since October 2016. In this role, she manages the Study Abroad team and directs all programs, with an emphasis on faculty-led study abroad program development. She also oversees study abroad risk management, internal and external relationships and agreements, and Study Abroad policies and procedures.
Prior to USU, Monika served as a Foreign Service officer in the Public Diplomacy career track at the U.S. Department of State and was posted to the U.S. Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica, for a consular tour. She previously held positions in international education at Abertay University in Scotland, George Washington University’s Office for Study Abroad and non-profit organization Youth For Understanding. As a student and in the years after graduation, she taught English in South Korea and Italy, worked in England and Ireland, and interned in Australia.
