Biography
Jillian has been working as a Study Abroad Advisor at the Office of Global Engagement since August 2025. Her interest in international exchange began in 2017, when she spent a summer in Kitakyushu, Japan with the non-profit organization Youth for Understanding as a high school student. In 2018, she again spent the summer living and attending school in Nittenau, Germany - the Bavarian sister city of her beloved hometown Lake Zurich, Illinois. Throughout her undergraduate and graduate years, Jillian has been fortunate enough to have visited and spent extended amounts of time in a variety of locales in Asia (Japan), Africa (Egypt, Senegal), Europe (Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, the UK), and the Middle East (Israel, the UAE). She is always eager to advise and discuss travel plans with prospective study abroad students – whether that be in English, German, or Japanese!
