Theme Housing Fees

 

A one-time $50 theme housing fee for those participating in Outdoor Adventure or Global Village will be assessed for fall semester. This fee is used for travel, food and supplies.

110 meals per semester + $200 dining dollars $1,100
Unlimited meals per semester + $200 dining dollars $1,725

Semester meals can be used at either of the two dining halls (The Junction & The Marketplace). Dining dollars can be used at any of the USU Dining Services locations. If student is approved for an early termination of their contract, the meal plan and associated dining dollars expire on the date of check out. Meal plan changes can be made until two weeks after the beginning of each semester. The student's USU ID card is used to access meals and may be used only by the student to whom it is issued. If student's account becomes delinquent, the Dining Services Office reserves the right to place a hold on the use of the meal plan. The student will not be reimbursed for any missed meals when a hold is in place.

All cancellations need to be submitted online by logging into the Housing website.

 

2019-2020 Academic Year Contract

Prior to May 1 The $200 security/reservation deposit will be refunded.
May 2 to June 15 The $200 security/reservation deposit is forfeited.
June 16 to Aug 26 Student must meet one of the termination reasons listed in the Housing Contract, otherwise the student is financially obligated for contract.
After Moving In Student must meet one of the termination reasons listed in the Housing Contract. Rent fees and meal plan fees (if approved) will be prorated through the date that the student completes the move-out process with Housing & Residence Life staff.

 

2020 Spring Semester Only Contract

Dec 16 to Jan 6 Student must meet one of the termination reasons listed in the Housing Contract, otherwise the student is financially obligated for contract.

  • Fall Semester - August 14, 2019*
    - Rent and meal plan charges will post on July 15, 2019.
  • Spring Semester - December 11, 2019*
    - Rent and meal plan charges will post on November 15, 2019.
  • Summer Semester - April 15, 2020*
    - Rent and meal plan charges will post on April 8, 2020.
    *pending due dates, subject to change. Due date will be the same as tuition and fees

 

Payment Information

 

Payment for tuition, fees and housing occur in one location simply by logging into your USU Banner Access account. Student can choose to pay with an electronic check (no additional fee added) or with a credit card (a convenience fee is added at the time of transaction). Students who will be receiving financial aid or scholarship funds will have that amount allocated to tuition and fees first. Remaining funds will be put towards any housing charges. Please be aware that any past due amounts on Banner, whether it be Housing or other University charges could prevent Student from registering, using activity card, etc.

 

Winter Break

 

Housing Contracts include winter break at no additional cost. Meal plans are not active during the break. Students staying during the break need to have their room keys reprogrammed at their Area Office before the end of fall semester. Students not remaining in Housing for spring semester must completed all move-out requirements by 2:00 p.m. the day after finals end. Students who remain in housing during winter break and then cancel for spring will be charged a per night rate.

 

Amenities

 

Electricity, natural gas, water, sewer and garbage, internet (wired and wireless), cable TV (except Darwin Apt), and free laundry are included. Bedrooms include extra-long twin bed (36” x 80”), dresser, desk, and desk chair. Private rooms in Blue Square have full size mattresses.

 

Meal Plans

 

Required Meal Plans

Residents living in Mountain View Tower, Central Suites, Richards Hall, Bullen Hall and the Living Learning Community are required to have a housing meal plan for the academic year.

Optional Meal Plans

Residents in all other housing buildings other than those listed above are not required to have a meal plan. Visit USU Dining for information regarding block meal plans.

 

Important Dates

August 17 Move-In Day! Residents check in between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Meal plans begin with dinner meal.
August 26 Fall Semester classes being. All students must be checked in.
September 9 Last day to change meal plan for fall semester.
November 1 Due date to submit "Petition to Terminate Contract" for Spring Semester. A $200 late termination fee assessed if submitted after December 1st.
November 20-22 Thanksgiving Break. No classes, all housing remains open. All dining services closed.
December 9-13 Fall Semester finals week.
December 14 End of Fall Semester. Residents approved for Spring Semester contract termination must check out by 2:00 p.m.
January 4 Move-in day! Check in between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. Meal plans begin with dinner meal.
January 6 Spring Semester classes begin. All residents must be checked in.
January 20 Last day to change meal plan for spring semester.
March 9-13 Spring Break. No classes, housing remains open. Limited dining options available.

Residents can choose to pay online with an electronic check (no additional fee added) or with a credit card (a convenience fee is added at the time of transaction).

Residents who will be receiving financial aid or scholarship funds will have that amount allocated to tuition and fees first. Remaining funds will be put towards any housing charges. Please be aware that any past due amounts on your Banner Access account, whether it be Housing or other University charges could prevent you from registering, using your activity card, etc. The Banner Access system only acts as a cashier, you will still need to contact the Housing Office with questions related to Housing charges.
