Benefit-Eligible Employee Health & Retirement Enrollment

As a new employee in a benefit-eligible position at USU, you are eligible for many great benefits. In addition to your annual salary, the approximate value of your benefits package is 45%. All benefits and coverage are effective on the date of hire.

You have 30 days from your hire date to complete your online benefits enrollment form. You should be enrolled in a "USU Benefits" training in Learn Blue (USU’s employee learning management system), which will walk you through everything you need to know. You can also explore all of your benefit options on the USU benefits website

Leadership Orientation & Certificate Program

The Leadership Orientation Workshop is a comprehensive 4-day experience designed to provide supervisors with essential resources, tools, and insights to effectively fulfill their leadership role, including understanding leadership expectations and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. This workshop equips participants with the knowledge needed to lead successfully while adhering to university policies and legal requirements.

The Leading at USU Certificate is an optional cohort-based program designed to build upon the orientation workshop to develop strong leaders through interactive workshops, leadership assessments, and peer networking. Over 1–2 years, participants complete live training sessions, and two four-month cohort experiences focused on leadership, communication, and strategic management. Aggies Thrive is a resource hub designed to support Utah State University employees in their professional growth, well-being, and mental health. The website provides tools, training, and support for workplace success, mental health awareness, and overall well-being. FranklinCovey All Access Pass

Ask your supervisor about the FranklinCovey All Access Pass, providing unlimited access to top-tier professional development content and solutions. The pass allows you to attend live training sessions throughout the year and explore a wide range of self-paced courses online to enhance your skills and personal effectiveness. The cost of the pass is $175, which will need to be covered by your department.

Free USU Course Auditing

Employee Holiday Calendar

Stay informed and plan effectively with the Employee Holiday Calendar. This valuable resource provides a comprehensive overview of all university-observed holidays and important dates throughout the academic year. By regularly consulting the calendar, employees can easily track campus closures and key scheduling information, ensuring seamless coordination with university operations.

Travel

The university purchasing process at USU ensures purchases are made according to university policies. Employees must submit a purchase requisition for approval through the university's system. Once approved, the purchasing department processes the order. After the purchase, submit receipts for reimbursement, if applicable. Be sure to review USU’s purchasing policies for guidelines on vendors and allowable expenses. The purchasing team is available for any questions or assistance.

P-Card Purchasing

The P-Card purchasing process at USU allows approved employees to make small purchases using a university-issued procurement card. After making a purchase, reconcile the statement by submitting receipts through the system for approval. P-Card holders must complete required training, and the P-Card office is available for assistance.
