About This Program

In a world of increasing religious diversity and conflict, this 18 credit interdisciplinary Interfaith Leadership Certificate (IFLC) is open to undergraduate students of all majors. It combines classroom-based learning and community-based internships. It has been designed to provide students with the vision, knowledge and skills needed to navigate a religiously diverse world while building capacity for mutually inspiring relationships with people of differing religious/non-religious worldviews. Having this certificate will add real value to any post-graduation employment or graduate-level education that you seek. Courses leading to the certificate can be completed face-to-face or entirely online.

Sample Courses for Interfaith Leadership

 

This is a foundations course for the Interfaith Leadership Certificate Program. It is a required course for students in this program and is open to all students. The course introduces students to knowledge, vision, and skills of interfaith leadership and is applicable to all majors. 

This course introduces students to the knowledge, values, and skill-sets needed to navigate religious complexity and diversity in the world today. 

Students examine how character excellences can serve as a foundation for ethical theory. Topics covered include the nature of the virtues, moral motivation and the emotions, moral education, practical wisdom, friendship and family relationships, and a deep concept of happiness. 

Varieties of American religious experience from settlement to the present.
