Bring Your Coursework to USU

In order for your previously earned credits to be considered by USU, you must submit your official transcripts either electronically to transcripts@usu.edu or by mail to:

USU Admissions
0160 Old Main Hill
TSC 102
Logan UT, 84322-1060.

Please allow one to two weeks for initial processing. Articulated transfer credits will appear on your DegreeWorks and academic transcript in Banner. If the transfer credit does not appear in either of these locations within the initial processing time, you may contact the Admissions Office to verify that your transcripts have been received. For more information about USU’s policies regarding transferring credits, visit the University Catalog.

Credit Transferability

Acceptance of credit should not be confused with its application. Transfer credit may or may not apply to the graduation requirements of Utah State University, regardless of the number of credits transferred. USU accepts transfer credit from the following Regional Accreditation Organizations:

  • Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC)
  • Higher Learning Commission (HLC)
  • Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)
  • New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
  • Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)
  • Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
  • Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

Petition for a Change in Course Evaluation or for Credit from a Non-Regionally Accredited Institution

If a you disagree with how a course transfers to USU, a Transfer Credit Recommendation Form may be used to petition specific courses. The form must be initiated with your USU academic advisor and sent to the academic department over the class you are petitioning. If the academic department approves the desired course, the form will be sent to the articulation department and your student record will be updated accordingly. The Transfer Credit Recommendation Form can also be used if you wish to have transfer credit from a non-regionally accredited institution considered for acceptance.
