Opting Contacts In/Out
When new contacts are added to a Message program, those contacts are opted into receiving texts from that program. This guide cover how contacts can be opted out and how Message users can opt a contact back in.

Opt Out a Contact
Message will automatically stop, or opt out, any contacts that text in stop, cancel, or unsubscribe. If they send a message indicating they would like to opt out not using those specific words, users can manually opt the contact out following these instructions:
Open a contact's profile
Click "Set as opted out" under "Status"

If needed, contacts can also be opted out in bulk.
Opt In a Contact
Contacts should only be opted back in if requested by the contact.
If a contact sends a text indicating they would like to start receiving messages again, users with the appropriate permissions can manually opt the contact back in by following these steps:
Open a contact's profile
Click "Set as opted in" under "Status"

- Program admins can opt in a contact but counselors can only opt a contact back in if their program admin has enabled that setting.
- If needed, contacts can also be opted in in bulk.
