USU Eastern Sees Big Changes in Athletics

Major changes are underway for Utah State University Eastern’s athletics program. ... The school, with campuses in Price and Blanding, will add softball, rodeo and dance to its athletics offerings come fall semester — men and women’s soccer were added two years ago. The school also announced a new athletics logo and never-before-seen contract with a popular sports apparel company to produce its uniforms. The developments are a great step for the school in Eastern Utah that merged with USU in 2010, officials said. ... USU has long had men’s basketball and baseball, volleyball and women’s basketball, according to Paur. Dart said adding the new sports programs could bump the number of student athletes at USU Eastern up from 150 to 250. USU Eastern competes in the Scenic West Conference of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
