Botanical Tribute to M.C. Escher on Display on Crockett Ave.

Hidden away on 82 Crockett Ave. stands the garden of Bruce Bugbee and Diana West, who for nearly 30 years have entertained visitors with the botanical creations of their garden. ... Every growing season, Bugbee selects a historical figure or event on which to base the garden. This year, he has chosen to honor the life and works of Maurits Cornelis Escher, a Dutch artist famous for his artistic style of optical illusion and geometric figures. ... As a professor of crop physiology and plant nutrition at Utah State University, Bugbee sought to combine his love for gardening with his expertise as a biologist. Together with Diana, they have managed to provide visitors with different designs every year, including the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, and last year’s tribute to the book “The Little Prince.”
