Bridgerland Now, USU Next: New Partnership Creates a Seamless Pathway

Students can now begin their education at Bridgerland Technical College knowing a seamless pathway to a bachelor's degree at Utah State University is available, thanks to a new partnership.

Bridgerland Now, USU Next is designed to help students build a strong foundation through BTECH’s hands-on, career-focused education at Bridgerland Technical College while planning their future at Utah State from day one. The program removes barriers to transfer by providing direct admission to USU, personalized academic advising, established transfer pathways, automatic scholarship consideration, and dedicated support throughout the student's educational journey.

Students enrolled in the program will also become part of the Aggie community before officially enrolling at USU. Participants are eligible to engage in campus life through student activities, recreation opportunities at the ARC, housing, athletics, and other campus events, helping them build connections and experience university life while completing their technical education.

At the same time, students continue to benefit from Bridgerland's accelerated, hands-on training, industry partnerships, and career-focused learning environment that prepares them for immediate employment.

"Our responsibility is to make it easier for students to reach their goals," said USU President Brad Mortensen. "Bridgerland Now, USU Next gives students the flexibility to start with the education that best fits their needs today while creating a straightforward path to a Utah State degree tomorrow. It's a great example of how Utah's public institutions can work together to expand opportunity, strengthen our workforce, and better serve students across the state."

The partnership builds on the long-standing relationship between the two institutions and recognizes that today's students benefit from flexible educational options that combine hands-on technical training with the opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree.

Rather than navigating the transfer process on their own, students in USU Next receive coordinated support from both institutions. They can confidently plan their coursework, understand how credits apply toward a bachelor's degree, and remain focused on achieving their academic and career goals.
