Sounds of the Stadium: An Evening of Music and School Spirit

By Ella Stott |

LOGAN, Utah — The Aggie Marching Band will celebrate its 2024 season with the annual Sounds of the Stadium recap performance. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 22 in the Daryl Chase Fine Arts Center’s Daines Concert Hall.

This traditional performance will feature a selection of songs from the marching band’s pre-game and halftime shows, as well as drum cadences, school songs and music heard throughout Maverik Stadium.

Lane Weaver, director of the Aggie Marching Band, emphasized the band’s essential role in creating an unforgettable game-day experience.

“It’s part of the pageantry. It’s part of the tradition of a college football game,” Weaver said. “I think it’s a great way for members of the community that might not otherwise hear the student musicians here at USU hear the talent and the dedication of these students.”

The marching band is composed of talented music and non-music majors. Many members also perform in the Wind Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Jazz Bands, Percussion Ensembles and Small Ensembles.

“These students are giving their time and talent in multiple veins, not just the marching band,” Weaver said. “There’s a lot of time and a lot of dedication that’s offered.”

Weaver noted the hard work students put into each game.

“These students will never see their name in a paper after the game, will never get their names read over the public address,” Weaver said. “But they still do what they do for the love of performing, for having love of the university and community just as much as the sports teams.”

“Sounds of the Stadium” is free and open to the public with no ticket required. For more information, visit the online calendar.
