StoryCorps Mobile Booth is in Uintah Basin with Utah Public Radio
Utah Public Radio and StoryCorps have teamed up to bring the StoryCorps MobileBooth to the Uintah Basin for the month of July. Utah Public Radio is part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Utah State University.
The MobileBooth — an Airstream trailer — is parked at the Uintah County Library in Vernal through July 29. Residents of the region are invited to share stories and record an interview in the mobile studio, preserving a place in history.
Organizers encourage those participating to share a conversation with someone you love or admire.
Reservations and additional information can be found at the UPR website.
Since 2003, StoryCorps has collected and archived more than 50,000 interviews with more than 100,000 participants. Each conversation takes about an hour, is recorded on a CD to share, and is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind, and millions listen to the weekly broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition and on its website.
