USU's Aggie Blue Bikes Benefits From Pedal-Powered Concert

Local outdoor retailer campsaver.com is hosting a pedal-powered benefit concert, March 13 at 8 p.m. during the grand opening of its new retail store at 31 N. Main Street, Logan. Concert tickets are $2 for students with ID and $4 for everyone else. The concert benefits two local, nonprofit groups, Utah State University’s Aggie Blue Bikes and Common Ground.

The concert features three Utah bands, Dry Lake, Matteo and Archers Apple. The pedal-powered sound system that will be used was crafted in the Aggie Blue Bikes workshop. The carbon-free system relies solely on the energy created from pedaling and can power virtually any electronic device, including amplifiers.

“We wanted to work with Aggie Blue Bikes because it promotes sustainability,” said Campsaver store manager Evan Howard. “Riding a bike is a difference we can all make. We also wanted to support Common Ground and the difference it makes for people with disabilities.”

Aggie Blue Bikes and Common Ground will be at Campsaver all day March 13 to provide information and answer questions about the organizations. For more information, stop by Campsaver (31 N. Main Street) or visit the Web site.
