USU Flutist to Help Premiere Utah Composer's 'Bouquet for Flute and Piano'
"Bouquet: In Memoriam, Ad Libitum" will feature the premiere of Andrew Maxfield's composition by flutist Jeiran Hasan and pianist Amy Glenn at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall.

At her upcoming faculty recital, flutist and Assistant Professor Jeiran Hasan, in collaboration with pianist Amy Glenn, will premiere Andrew Maxfield’s “Bouquet for Flute and Piano.” A Utah composer, Maxfield just received a 2026 Barlow Endowment commission from the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition to work with the Utah Symphony and Sound of Ages.
As part of his visit to Utah State University, Maxfield will give a short talk about his work. The performance features internationally acclaimed musicians and composers, including Chen Yi of China, Ian Clarke of England, and Lala Jafarova of Azerbaijan.
The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Russell/Wanlass Performance Hall on USU’s Logan campus. The recital is free and open to the public and will also be streamed live on the Caine School of the Arts’ YouTube page.
