Stephanie Borrie delivers a lecture titled "Conversational Chemistry" Oct. 29 at the Merrill-Cazier Library on USU's Logan Campus.
LOGAN — Utah State University Libraries welcomed students, faculty and community members to the Merrill-Cazier Library on Oct. 29 for an insightful evening with Stephanie Borrie, professor of speech pathology and director of the Human Interaction Lab at USU.
The lecture, titled "Conversational Chemistry," was presented as part of the Friends of the Merrill-Cazier Library lecture series. Borrie guided attendees through the science of human connection, exploring how everyday conversations shape relationships, work and community.
Drawing from her research in speech disorders related to neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke, Borrie illustrated how successful conversation depends on shared effort between communication partners. Her work revealed the subtle behavioral coordination that makes connection possible, even amid disruption.
This event continues the USU Libraries’ mission to enrich the USU community with engaging lectures
and discussions that foster curiosity, lifelong learning and meaningful dialogue.
