Brooke Lister, registered dietitian with Campus Recreation, has been awarded the Emerging Dietetics Leader Award from the Utah Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
“Brooke started in October 2021 and has single-handedly created a robust nutrition program to meet the needs of our students,” Director of Campus Recreation Katie Burns said. “Everything we offer, she has designed and created.”
Lister’s partnership with NDFS also means that students in that program are getting practical, hands-on experience in dietetics, teaching their peers.
“While other institutions may offer nutrition classes, USU is uniquely situated to meet the wide-ranging needs of students, faculty, and staff because of the programs that Brooke has designed,” Burns said. “We are so proud of Brooke for receiving this award and for all the potential growth to continue leading the industry.”
Brooke continues to work with students, faculty and staff members. While working with dietetics students to provide cooking demonstrations and workshops for the Utah State student base, she also offers one-on-one nutrition coaching sessions for all populations on campus.
