When she was about 4, her favorite Christmas gift was clothes — at least according to a note her mom wrote on her behalf. Certainly makes sense for a kid who looked forward to picking out her own outfits for the day when she was in elementary school.
This trend continued, when at 13 or 14, YouTube videos about upcycling thrifted clothing helped her on her self-taught journey to learn how to sew. Now, as a graduating senior in Outdoor Product Design and Development at USU, it’s safe to say that Anna Holland has followed her passions.
But, coincidently, it was another YouTube video that she came across a few years ago that shaped her senior capstone project — a three-piece collection aimed at the needs of people who use wheelchairs. For her project, Anna was connected with a local nonprofit, Jump the Moon, and an artist there named Kaya Eccles — who, among other mediums and methods, utilizes an adapted motorized wheelchair to paint.
In this video learn about the collaboration between the two of them, and what came of it.
