USU Tooele Sees 9.8% Enrollment Growth for Fall 2025

By Marcus Jensen |

TOOELE, Utah — At a time when many colleges across the country are experiencing dips in student enrollment, Utah State University Tooele is celebrating a 9.8% overall increase this fall—an achievement that underscores the campus’s strong community ties, personalized outreach, and student-centered approach.

This increase includes a 1.1% increase in undergraduate students, and a 24% increase in graduate students. High school aged students enrolling at USU Tooele also saw an increase of 11%– with many of those students having previously completed various levels of concurrent enrollment courses while in high school.

Jenn Cowburn, associate vice president of USU Tooele, credits the strong enrollment increase to the dedication of USU Tooele’s advising and admissions teams, who work to connect personally with prospective students.

“Our great team here, collaborating together for the best outcomes, are truly the heart of this success,” said Cowburn. “Their commitment to meeting students where they are—whether that’s through high school visits, community events, or one-on-one guidance—has made a real difference.”

Students at USU Tooele benefit from small class sizes, hands-on learning opportunities and faculty and staff who are committed to student success. Coupled with the supportive environment on campus and relevant academic programs and technical education, students continually thrive at USU Tooele.

“Once students step into our doors, our faculty and staff make it their priority to help them flourish,” Cowburn said. “Students tell us all the time they feel supported, and we take great pride in that.”

Located in the valley of the Oquirrh Mountains, Utah State University Tooele offers students the personalized attention and small class sizes of a small-town college with the resources of a large university. With degree options ranging from associate to doctorate degrees, plus technical education offerings, USU Tooele offers programs that help fuel local economies and empower individuals and their communities.
