Luke's Family Cafe on the Quad is one of the Logan campus's "Core 4" cafes. Each of the Core 4 is hosting a grand reopening event over the coming four weeks.

Mark the dates on your calendars, folks, USU Dining Services has a big surprise in store for all Aggies. Over the next four weeks, Dining Services is hosting grand openings for the rebranded “Core 4 Cafes”: Shaw’s 88 Kitchen, The Forum Cafe, STEEPED Proudly Serving Starbucks, and Luke’s Family Cafe on the Quad. These are all a part Dining Services’ new tradition: “Eat at the Core 4 to become an Aggie to the Core.”

“The vision is that ‘Aggie to the Core’ will become a tradition just like the ‘True Aggie’ tradition,” said Alan Andersen, the executive director of Dining Services.

How does one become an official “Aggie to the Core”? It’s simple — pick up a punch card and visit each location and then redeem for an official Aggie to the Core T-shirt. To become one of the first to become an Aggie to the Core, go to all of the grand openings, set each Wednesday for the next four weeks. At the first grand reopening, you can get a punch card and punch it with that specific location's punch design. Bring that punch card with you to the next three grand openings and redeem for a free T-shirt. Supplies will be limited.

Exclusive deals will be on offer during each of the Core 4’s reopening weeks, with a grand reopening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday for that week’s location. Each grand opening will have different themes and prizes.

Jan. 26: The first reopening week is for Shaw’s 88 Kitchen, located on the 2nd floor of Huntsman Hall. The grand reopening event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26. Enjoy a buffet full of the café’s own Clutch brand of grab-n-go food while you sip a specialty soda from The Trough soda bar. You can even shoot hoops with Big Blue for a chance at a free Clutch shirt or hat.

Feb. 2: The next reopening will be The Forum Café, located in Merrill-Cazier Library. The grand reopening will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2. Some things to look forward to on this day are $1 for any menu item, cornhole Olympics competing against toga-wearing fraternity members for a chance at a free Forum T-shirt. You can also test out our new photo-op area with a professional photographer.

Feb. 9: The third location that will be reopening is STEEPED Proudly Serving Starbucks, located in the new Life Sciences Building. The grand opening for STEEPED will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 9. Come mingle with the sororities on the red carpet, get your photo taken by our professional photographer in front of our backdrop and bring a friend for a buy-one-get-one deal on any drink.

Feb. 16: Last but not least, Luke’s Family Cafe on The Quad, located in the Agricultural Sciences Building, will be reopening. Luke’s recently redid its entire menu and now offers delicious street tacos. The grand reopening for Luke’s Family Café on the Quad will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16. The first 100 people to show up will get a free taco, and every 30 minutes Dining Services will break open a piñata full of free merch and food coupons.

Even if you can’t make it to all four, stopping by at least one grand reopening will let you enter an ongoing raffle exclusive to these events. Enter for a chance to win any of these prizes:

— 1st place: Free tacos every weekday for rest of the semester.

— 2nd place: A 10-block meal card.

— 3rd place: A 5-block meal card.

— 4th through 10th places: 2-block meal cards.
