This experiential workshop will help participants learn mindfulness skills for managing stress and living more fully in the present moment. Participants will be introduced to the concept of mindfulness, and a variety of activities related to mindfulness meditation, including the body scan, sitting meditation, and walking meditation. Participants' experiences with mindful awareness and mindfulness activities will be discussed, and suggestions for daily practice will be provided.

The USU SACNAS Chapter (http://www.usu.edu/sacnas/) will be hosting Dr. Dana Sanchez on campus as part of Research Week. Dr. Sanchez is an assistant professor and Extension wildlife specialist at Oregon State University who specializes in mammalian space use and habitat selection as well as human-wildlife issues. As part of her extension position, she is also involved with increasing awareness regarding ethnic and gender diversity within the natural resource field. Abstract: “While we continue to lead the world in scientific endeavors, the ways science is done and knowledge created are under pressure to transform. One of the emerging paradigms is 'Engaged Scholarship.' which challenges institution-community boundaries in definitions of research problems, processes, productions, and the level of collaboration." An opportunity to socialize with Dr. Sanchez will be provided after this talk. Refreshments will be provided.

This series of five workshops is designed to promote better understanding of experiences and values related to sexual well-being. It is also designed to explore and challenge common myths about this often taboo subject. Workshops will be held on the USU campus and are FREE to everyone in the general public and from the university. Reservations are appreciated by calling the number, but walk-ins are also gladly welcomed.

You can attend any one session or all five. What is healthy Sexuality? In this series of workshops, you will explore what healthy sexuality means for YOU: both the physical and the emotional. People from all backgrounds, experience levels, and belief systems are welcome: currently partnered or not, sexually active, waiting for marriage, doesn't matter. If you want to know more about intimacy, and more about your own wants, needs, or boundaries - OR if you want to learn more about effectively communicating those wants, needs and boundaries to potential sexual partner(s), this workshop is for you!

There will be a 30-minute silent meditation with a discussion afterwards. All levels of experience welcome! Guided meditations will be available for those new to the practice. Chairs and cushions will be provided for sitting. You are welcome to bring your own sitting gear. EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) is providing free, quality evening child care to USU student parents who need on-campus study time. Open spots for each night will be available first come first serve. To reserve your child's spot, call or email Stephanie Legako at least 24-hours in advance. We are located inside the northeast entrance of the ECERC Building (Early Childhood Education and Research Center).
