Ecology+ seminar - Human-Wildlife Interactions

Whether it’s securing trash in bear country, following wildlife regulations, or managing livestock alongside predators, conservation outcomes depend on human decisions. Drawing on consumer behavior research, this talk examines how people’s motivation, ability, and opportunity shape whether they comply with, support, or actively steward wildlife. It also explores why education alone rarely changes behavior, and how to design messages and programs that fit the moments when people actually make decisions. With: Dr. Matthew Meng Associate Professor USU Department of Marketing and Strategy and Natalie Stier Education Outreach Coordinator Utah’s Hogle Zoo
