Interfolio Admin Guide: Part 8

Part 8 of this guide provides information for the college dossier admin (CDA) on managing and creating college-specific templates that can be used to create new cases.

Use Templates to Reduce Repetitive Work

CDAs who find themselves making the same changes to case instructions, sections, or steps should consider creating a new case template or modifying an existing template. CDAs have the ability to create templates for the colleges they oversee. The templates they build will not be seen by the CDAs for other colleges.

Edit an Existing Template

Most colleges have college-specific case templates for various types of reviews. These can be edited and updated by the CDA as needed using the following steps:

1

Login to Interfolio and click the Templates navigation link.

2

Click on an existing template. A template summary page appears, with the content of each template section.

3

Click the pencil icon next to a template section to edit its contents.

4

For example, to edit template instructions and/or case sections and requirements, click the pencil icon next to the Candidate Requirements section.

Click Continue to save your work.

5

To add or remove case steps and assign standing or ad-hoc committees to each step, click the pencil icon next to the Case Review Steps.

Click Continue to save your work.

Create a New Template

1

Login to Interfolio and click the Templates navigation link.

2

Click the Add Template button to start a template from scratch.

Set the title of your template carefully. It will appear, alongside the candidate's name, with every case you create using that template and cannot be edited on a case-by-case basis. So choose something descriptive and unique.

3

If you want to build your new template off of an existing template, instead of clicking the Add Template button, instead click the Options link next to an existing template and choose Create a Duplicate. Then give the template a new title and description and edit the template sections accordingly.
