Dannon Loveland
Career Coach
Something that makes the Integrated Studies program unique is the required capstone courses. Students make their educational experience even more valuable as they connect it with their career goals. Students prepare themselves for how they are going to contribute (or continue to contribute) after their undergraduate experience. They are able to tailor the work they do in their capstone courses to exploring and connecting with professionals, opportunities, and continued career development. As the instructor for one of the capstone courses, I really enjoy working with students, learning about their unique backgrounds and experiences, and helping them to move forward in their life and career!

Assistant Director, Career Design Center
Many Integrated Studies students participate in the ISTU 4250 Advanced Internship Course. This course elevates internship and current professional experiences by guiding students in crafting professional goals with their supervisors. Through reflective practices, participants align personal career goals with acquired skills, fostering a profound connection to their work. By the course's end, students not only gain invaluable skills but also possess tangible projects to effectively articulate their professional growth.
Student Feedback
Our program has allowed students to open themselves up to more opportunities for better life and career outcomes.
Integrated Studies provided me with a chance to earn my Bachelor’s degree after taking time off from my education for several years. It helped create my new career foundation as an Academic Advisor in higher education and steered me into continuing my education in a graduate program. I’m grateful that Integrated Studies was able to provide me with opportunities and guide me toward a career I’m passionate about.
To have this Integrated Studies degree has allowed me to come back and finish and get a degree and not have to start all over with something else, it's been great. I will have a degree that suits my career needs moving forward. I can't even put a price on the things that I'm learning as an Integrated Studies Student.
Career Outlook
Integrated Studies career paths are highly individual and customized to meet your needs. Many students go on to complete graduate studies to further specialize their education. If you're will unsure of the career path you want, USU's Career Design Center is a valuable resource to help you understand, develop and explore your options.
Skills You'll Develop

- Self-awareness
- Goal setting and planning
- Life-long learning strategies
- Designing career pathways
