What to Know Before You Go

When to Arrive

Check-in for the event will run from 9:00 - 9:50 a.m. on the second floor of the TSC. During this time, you will get checked in, receive materials, and take care of other housekeeping items before we begin the session. Have your A-Number ready when you come!

While you can arrive anytime between 9:00 - 9:50 a.m. for check-in, keep in mind that at 9:20 a.m. students and parents can participate in a financial literacy workshop put on by our USU Credit Union.

Plan your arrival time accordingly to park at Maverik Stadium, ride the shuttle to the Taggart Student Center, and get checked-in before programming begins. Both the student and parent sessions will begin promptly at 9:50 a.m.

Parking

During your visit, you will park at Maverik Stadium and ride the Aggie Shuttle to the Taggart Student Center (TSC) to check in on the second floor. Please make sure you print this parking pass and display it in your front windshield to avoid a parking ticket.

The Aggie Shuttle will run from 8:30 a.m - 10:00 a.m & 3:00 p.m - 4:30 p.m

If you arrive on your orientation date and do not have your parking pass with you, there will someone at the stadium with extra printed parking passes for anyone that needs one.

What Should I Bring?

Before you show up for your Orientation Day make sure that you have completed the following:

  • Setup your mobile USU ID and upload a photo for approval.
  • Complete Orientation Module 2
  • Register for classes - if you have questions or need assistance you can reply to the texts you've received from the orientation office, call 435-797-0283, or email orientation@usu.edu.

The day of you will want to bring:

Can I Bring a Parent or Guest?

Yes, you can invite your family and supporters to attend the concurrent Parent & Family Orientation session! There is a $20 fee for each guest. If you did not register a guest when you registered for orientation, you will need to cancel your reservation and create a new one with a guest reservation. You can cancel and create a new reservation through your confirmation email or reach out to the orientation office at orientation@usu.edu or by calling 435-797-0283.

In-Person vs Online

We encourage students that live within a 300 mile radius of the Logan Campus to attend in-person orientation. Coming in-person allows you the opportunity to speak with current students and staff members about anything you may have questions about, meet other incoming Aggies, bring a guest, learn about important policies, and become more familiar with campus geography. In-person orientation also replaces the Online Module 3.

If you live farther than 300 miles but still want to come, you're welcome! To ease travel concerns, Module 3 covers the same information as the in-person session. We also recommend all students, especially those unfamiliar with campus, to join the USU 1010 Connections First-Year Experience Course.

If you have questions about orientation, please reach out to us at parents@usu.edu or (435)-797-7557 or visit our website to schedule a Zoom or phone appointment.

How Do I Change or Cancel My Orientation Date?

If you need to cancel (and switch to online) or change your orientation because the date no longer works for you, no worries! You will need to cancel your current reservation and create a new one. You can cancel and create a new reservation through your confirmation email or reach out to the orientation office at orientation@usu.edu or by calling 435-797-0283. If you would like to cancel your orientation date because you no longer plan on attending USU, you may decline your offer.

How can I find my way around campus?

Use the USU Campus Map to explore buildings, landmarks, accessibility features, and safety information, and more.
