Graduation Deadlines

If you want to graduate in May 2022 you must submit your application by February 28, 2022.  See the USU Registrar's Graduation page for application information.

Caps and Gowns

All participants in the ceremony are required to wear authorized caps and gowns. Commencement apparel is available to buy from the USU Campus Store beginning on Febuary 7, 2022 or you can call them at 435-797-3950.

Please email science@usu.edu, if it will be a hardship for you to purchase a cap and gown.

The University Commencement Ceremony

Graduates who wish to participate in the processional on the Logan campus will line up on the Quad at 8:00 a.m. and process to the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum at 8:30 a.m.  The USU Commencement Ceremony will include the awarding of honorary degrees, announcement of university-wide faculty awards, and commencement speeches.

Participation Options & Statewide Ceremonies

Graduating students may choose to attend a commencement event at any USU campus across the state. See Statewide Campus Graduation for more details and instructions about participation. The University Commencement and all College Ceremonies will also be broadcast via AggieCast for graduates and guests wishing to participate virtually.  See USU Commencement for more information about attending virtually.

The College of Science Convocation Ceremony

The College of Science will host a graduation ceremony in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on Thursday, May 5 at 6:30 pm.  All graduation events across campus will require guest tickets for admission. Tickets will be made available through Event Services. All others are invited to participate via AggieCast.


All graduating students will need to fill out an RSVP so that the College of Science can plan seating for Convocation Ceremony.  Graduate Students need to additionaly fill out the surveys for the College of Science Grad Gala Event (being held on May 2nd, 2022.) 



Guest tickets will be required for the University Commencement and all College Convocations and Hooding Ceremonies held on the Logan campus. Tickets are complimentary and are now available on a first-come, first-served basis.  Note: faculty and graduating students do not need tickets to participate.

College Convocation Schedule

6:00 pm - Graduating students, dignitaries, faculty, marshals, and assisting staff: please meet in the Waynes Estes Center immediately west of Dee Glen Smith Spectrum to line up for the procession into the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

6:00 pm - All guests must be in their seats in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, prior to the processional beginning.

6:30 pm - The College of Science Convocation program begins.
